I've been so busy with work that I've hardly had time to breath BUT I have finalised my brand logo! I'm not the strongest photoshop and illustrator so I struggled with this aspect of the project, but after a few trial and errors I am very pleased with my final logo!
The first logo

I'm actually laughing as I reflect on this logo! The toothbrush like object is meant to be a straight razor like the one designed by Dan. I found creating the shape of the razor so difficult! I used images to trace and looked on youtube tutorials to help but it was useless, or I was useless! However, I wanted to show my tutors that I had considered the design, so I included it in my presentation.
I knew as soon as I started making my presention I knew this didn't fit with my brand aesthetic.
The second logo

After my disaster of a presention, I finally had my 'EUREKA!' moment. I kept the font of the previous logo - I liked it's simplicity, there was just something missing I felt. So, whilst I researched more into barbering and male grooming, I started to think of associated colours to them fields. Immediatley, I think of the 'barber shop pole', so I found amazing images from the unsplash website and used the colour picking tool on Illustrator. I believe this splash of colour gave the logo the lift it needed. As for the graphics of the new razor - I am so pleased with myself! I achieved this using the same techniques as before, but used trial and error to achieve the detail it was lacking before.
Throughout my report I have decided to use the the font and graphics seperatley, with the crossed razors acting as an identifiable emblem for the brand.
My goals for the next week are to write up my communications plan for the brand book and report, this will include deciding on my collaborative designer - as of now I really haven't the faintest idea how I will find a brand that fits with Edge, so I better get started!
